us - The Crafter's Workshop - Simple & Subtle!

Sunday, March 6, 2016

Hi there Happy March!  This is the latest post from my assignment at The Crafter's Workshop.
Even though it has already past, I wanted to make a scrapbook page from our Valentine’s Day.  We didn’t go out to eat and had a special dinner with our children instead, but it was still special!  I used 3 of the new release 12×12 stencils, shown below, to make this quick layout.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I wanted this layout to be almost monochromatic…with a subtle pop of pink.

I used the ‘Stockinette’ stencil, which is like a repeating chevron and this pewter Color Shine.  I just wanted to have a light layered background from my photo, so I didn’t stencil the entire piece of cardstock.

After it dried, I repeated the process using the ‘Corncob Etching’ stencil and the Blush pink Color Shine.  It may be my new favorite background stencil!  Finally, using an applicator, I added black ink over the scripty writing on the last stencil.

Some of the tiny dots around the fleur-de-lis were inked as well and I loved the way they looked so I added more of them, especially in the top right corner.

I added a couple layers of vellum and a piece of patterned paper under my photo and adhered it to the page.  A few embellishments, washi and a date stamp finished it off!

Thanks for stopping by today!  You can follow the link below to the stencils I used.
