Hello and Happy November! I love this time of year for reflecting on our blessings and trying to take time out of the chaos that is our life to be thankful. I also love the light this time of year; it always prompts a photo shoot.
My daughter’s middle name is Rose, so I knew this stencil would be used for something all about her!
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.
I also used several of the new mediums, the Clear Gesso being my current fav!
I added a thin layer onto white cardstock because I knew I would be adding a good bit of water onto this page.
After the gesso dried, I used the thick Modeling Paste to stencil the rose from the 12×12, and the smaller one from the 6×6.
I used my watercolors to paint on top of just the modeling paste.
I was interested to see how the watercolor would react on just the portion with the paste, not all over like an Art Journal page…the paste created an uneven surface which provided lots of places for the paint to puddle and react.
That is what I love most about watercolor…having to let go enough to allow the paint to do what it’s own thing! I also added a very light wash of turquoise to the background.
Wanting to keep it the page light, I used a few Distress Inks in the lighter blue range to stencil the text, overlapping and using both sizes.
I finally added my photo using dimensional adhesive and a little chipboard sticker.
I hope you enjoyed this look at my use of various mediums! Thanks so much for stopping by the Blog today!
