Using the Concord & 9th 'Mix Tape' Stamp Set I created a shaker card using the set as well as a stencil to add some pattern of musical notes to the background.  You can click on the video above or HERE to go directly to my YouTube Channel!

This stamp set has the coolest coordinating pieces like titles, cassette tape details and a roll of unspooled tape in the shape of a heart and a 'hello' sentiment.  I used the heart and cut out the inside for the shaker portion, coordinating the ink colors I used based on the shaker sequins.

I finished off the card by embellishing it with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Metallic Silver Lining and some Jewel Drops in Pale Periwinkle.  I hope this card inspired you to create a shaker card out of something totally not intended for a shaker!  Please check out the video, leave a comment to enter for my prize and hop along to enter for all the other prizes available!

Everyday Cards - Tonic Studios Craft Kit #21

Wednesday, May 22, 2019

Today, I am sharing two cards I created using the Tonic Studios Craft Kit #21.

You an click on the video below for the process for making these cards or HERE to go directly to my YouTube Channel.

Tonic Studios provided me with some of the products used but the ideas are solely my own.  Some affiliate links are included in supply list at no cost to you!

This first card was made using the intricate Rose die that is part of the kit and cutting it twice out of the same piece of white Pearlescent cardstock, rotating the die 180 degrees between cuts to create this pattern.

The die cut piece is overlaying a piece of plain cardstock that was sponged with several thin layers of Embellishment Mousse.  Those two pieces were matted onto a piece of Navy Classic Cardstock from the kit and adhered to a white card base.  Using the same navy cardstock, I cut the sentiment out three times using another die from the kit, stacked for added dimension.  I finished of the card by adding Aqua Shimmer to the sentiment as well as 3 different types of Nuvo Drops, including the newly released Stone Drops!

For the second card, I used the stencil that came in the kit and added a continuous pattern of these hearts and dots onto the same Navy cardstock.  I matted it with one of the Specialty paper from the kit in the gorgeous Gold.

I used that same gold cardstock to cut out the other sentiment from the kit as well as the border in vellum.  After adhering it to the front of my card base, I finished it off with more Stone Drops and Nuvo Drops in gold.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you get to check out the video.  These were pretty simple and the kind of everyday cards I always need in my stash!
Have a great day!

Stencils & Rainbows & Clouds - The Crafter's Workshop May 2019

Wednesday, May 1, 2019

Hello!  I am excited to share some happy, bright cards for you on this Wednesday!
I created several cards using 4 different 6x6 stencil and 7 Distress Inks in a rainbow of colors and a heat embossed sentiment using another stencil.

The Crafter's Workshop provided me with some products, but the ideas are completely my own.

Below are the stencils I used:

You can click the video below or HERE to go directly to the YouTube Channel.

Three of the stencils I used were circular and one rectangular.  I used scissors to fussy cut the shapes out of the white cardstock I used the stencils to ink onto.

I adhered each of the inked pieces to a piece of black cardstock and then glued that piece to a white card base.

Using a cloud digital file, I cut some colored glassine paper, much like vellum, out using my Silhouette Cameo.  I then used another stencil to heat emboss different words in Spanish onto the clouds.

I used both a white embossing powder and a gold detail embossing powder for those sentiments.

I finished off each card with a rainbow assortment of sequins or on one card, some Nuvo Drops in similar colors.

The finished cards are fun and perfect for lots of generic uses or "just because" cards, which always come in handy in any stash of cards!

Below, is a complete list of supplies and links to those products.

YOU ARE IN MY heart Card - The Crafter's Workshop March 2019

Tuesday, March 5, 2019

Hi friends!  I am sharing a cards I created using one of my favorite stencils from the latest release from The Crafter's Workshop.  I used this 6x6 stencil  and 4 colors of Distress Oxide Inks to blend a colored background for my card.

* The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project.
The opinions I share are solely my own.  Compensated affiliate links used. *

Below are the products I used...

I used a masking fluid over the heart before I used the Oxide Inks over the cardstock.  After the Inks dried, I removed the masking fluid and then masked the heart covering the newly inked card.

I added a layer of the Platinum Silver Modeling Paste from The Crafter's Workshop over the heart.

I used a lovely stamp set from Hero Arts for the sentiment that I stamped & heat embossed on black cardstock.

Finally, I added 6 or 7 Nuvo Drops in Dream Drops, Crystal Drops & Jewel Drops across the card in a rough diagonal from top left to bottom right.

I added the Dream Drops over the open heart stamp.

Thanks for stopping by the Blog today.  Please check out the video for a more detailed look at the products I used and the overall process.
I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

Llama Love Valentine Cards & VIDEO - Tonic Studios

Wednesday, January 23, 2019

Hello friends!
Today, I am sharing two similar Valentine cards I made for Tonic Studios.  I used several of the mediums to create two backgrounds, both in different tones of pinks and a Llama stamp & die set I picked up.

You can click on the video below to watch, or click HERE to go directly to my YouTube channel.

Tonic Studios provided me with some of the products used, but the ideas are completely my own.
*Affiliate link used at no cost to you...*

I started by stamping out the llamas onto Neenah Classic Crest paper using the black Nuvo Hybrid Ink that is perfect for using with the Nuvo alcohol makers.  While the ink dried completely, I worked on the backgrounds.  I had a square card base already cut and folded in a dove grey color, so I used watercolor paper in the same size.

One one background piece, using lots of water and two of the Nuvo Shimmer Powders, I created a pale wash of pink paint.  On the other background piece I used one of the blending brushes to add a light background color of the Nuvo hybrid ink color Panama Rose.  After that first layer of mediums dried, I added Glimmer Paste in Moonstone to the watercolor wash background using a 6x6 stencil.

I added a layer of embellishment mousse in Pink Flambé using the same stencil and a blending sponge.  I wanted to create a tone on tone background to give it some interest, while not taking away too much from my colored images.

Setting my backgrounds aside to dry, I began to color my llamas.  There is a die to cut out the entire llama and one smaller die that is for the blanket on its back.  I had stamped out 4 llamas, 2 to color completely and 2 to color just the blanket of.  After coloring and cutting out the images using my new Sidekick, I began to assemble my cards.

First, I trimmed the background pieces and adhered them to the card bases.  I had already cut out a scalloped circle and some fun foam out of the same circle die.  I added some light blue ink around the edges on the circle and glued it to the card backgrounds using the Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive glue.  It is really strong and perfect for using on a textured & mixed media background.  Next, I glued the colored llama images with another layer of the cut fun foam to the scalloped circles.  I added the little  blanket pieces to the top of the image using a pop dot for even more dimension.

I stamped one sentiment using the black ink on white cardstock and heat embossed the other sentiment onto vellum.  I added each of the sentiments to the right side of the llama in the middle of the card.  I used several colors of Vintage Drops and the Crystal Drops in Bright Gold to the Pom-poms around each llama.  I finished off the card with the Glimmer Paste using a couple of the stamped hearts that are part of the set and adding some Aqua Shimmer to the blankets.

Below is a complete listing of the supplies used.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and make sure you check out the video!
Have a great day!

Sparkly Shaker Cards - Tonic Studios November 2018

Sunday, November 25, 2018

Hello crafty friends!  Happy Thanksgiving weekend, for those in the U.S.!
Today, I am going to share a couple cards I created for Tonic Studios using loads of their products and one very anticipated just released one!

I wanted to create two cards that was similar in the overall design but with two very different color schemes.  I planned to center each card around the Circle Die & Shaker Set from Tonic that is such a great idea and easy way to create shaker cards.

Tonic Studios provided me with products but the ideas and opinions are totally my own.
*Compensated affiliate links used*

You can click the above to watch the video or HERE to go directly to my YouTube channel.

I used the Nuvo Hybrid Inks and the Nuvo stencil brushes to blend a background from pale turquoise to lavender on my base piece of cardstock.  I used a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and the Fine Detail Embossing Powder to add the snowflakes onto my blended background.  I used several types of the 'Let It Snow' confetti inside the shaker.

I finished up the card by adding a heat embossed sentiment in silver and some of the Nuvo Crystal Drops.

The next card had the same basic setup.  I created a patterned background to accent the circle shaker as an ornament.  I used the just released Expanding Mousse from Nuvo in Bramley Green over a holly leaf stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.  It is a really innovative product that has lots of uses.  Check out the video for the details about it!

I die cut a sentiment from this Mirror Card in red from Tonic and mounted it onto the vellum border piece of the same "Merry Christmas" sentiment die.

Using the circle die from the shaker set, I used it to be the background of my ornament.  I again used several of the Nuvo confetti in the 'Jingle Bells' set.  I added a piece of twine to my ornament and some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gold where the holly berries would be.  Lastly, I mounted the entire piece onto Pistachio Green cardstock and then onto my card base.

I really love how festive this second card turned out!  These Die &  Shaker sets come in other shapes too...think I may need to get my hands on some of those!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I appreciate all the support and hope you check out the video as well.  Have an amazing week!
