Scrapbook Circle Paradise Cove kit

Hey there!  I am sharing one final project for the Scrapbook Circle September kit using the ‘Paradise Cove’ Exclusive Bundle.

After using the kit for a Summer edition Traveler’s Notebook, I decided to use the remaining kit for a traditional scrapbook layout.  I decided to use a grid with the square cut apart pieces in the kit that were either just graphics, or phrases.

After laying out a design using a couple square Instagram pics I printed out, I added lots of the embellishments included int he kit to add interest and texture.

I used one of the cut apart quotes from Helen Keller which I though was perfect for pictures of these crazy kiddos!

I added some of the Washi Tape, Puffy Stickers, Corner Embellishments and Ephemera Stickers for interest to each grid piece.

Finishing with a few paint splatters in coordinating colors, this layout was done!

favorite - Tech. Tip Scrapbook Circle September 2016

Hello friends!  I am sharing a creation from Scrapbook Circle last month, giving a few ideas of how to get more out of your digital cut files.  The September cut file is a lovely background of repeating hexagons.

I began by enlarging the scale of the cut file by about 1-1/2 times the size of the 12" file in the Silhouette software.  I cut the file out of plain white cardstock and trimmed it down to about 9"x9."

I misted it with two different colors of Color Shine, Peach & Blush, blending them slightly.

I placed the misted piece where I planned to adhere it and used the piece that was cut off to trace the hexagon shapes onto the background cardstock.

I used the punch tool from an Amy Tangerine stitching kit to punch the outline of all the hexagons I traced.

I used 3 different colors of embroidery thread, from light to dark, to stitch the hexagons I traced.

I used the negative pieces punched out of the Cut File,  to add dimension to the background.  Using Distress Ink I added some color to a few of the hexagon pieces.

I used dimensional adhesive to adhere the photo to the misted cut file background.  I also used dimensional adhesive to add the inked pieces to the background, corresponding to the pattern.

A few pieces of the Pinkfresh Studio 6x6 patterned paper were added behind a couple of the hexagonal openings.

I love the way this layout developed, using one piece as a tool and inspiring the pattern it became.  I hope this inspires you to take a different look at your die cut backgrounds.  They can be used in so many ways, only limited to your imagination!

SHINE BRIGHT like a...Scrapbook Circle DT Choice

Hi there!  I am happy to share my DT Choice for the Scrapbook Circle Blog post.  The September kit, “Shine Bright” is an amazing combination of colors, patterns and embellishments!  I was so inspired by the Amy Tan watercolor resist cards that I created this page using a simple grid.

I rounded all the corners of the patterned papers and my photo to match the resist card that I painted a pale teal color.

The little bag of star sequins included in the main kit were a perfect match for this color palette and the gorgeous background paper in the wood grain pattern.

I used one square for the title, inspired by the kit name, one for the photo, one for the sequin pocket and the resist card.

I added some black paint splatters onto the background paper and stitched a few lines thru some of the grid pieces.  I also added stitching to the left and right sides of the background.

This color combination never bores me and I will always be inspired by these lovely hues!

ALWAYS THINK THAT YOU ARE MAGIC - Scrapbook Circle September Take 2



Hi there!  This was my Take 2 assignment using the September ‘Hello, Hello’ main kit and Embellishment kit.
I chose to take inspiration from the super talented DT member Gina Lideros and this fabulous page she made using the January  ‘All You Need is Love’  kit.  This is my finished page below.

This is Gina’s gorgeous page that inspired me with the lovely. large title which dominates the page.
I also loved the circles scattered around the layout and the photo at the bottom.

I decided to lift her title directly, using the fun Amy Tangerine Finders Keepers Thickers.  I also painted a faint pink stripe wash on the white cardstock background.  I loved the striped paper Gina used and wanted to add a little something to ground the title and photo.

I fussy cut some of the speech bubbles from this patterned paper using them around the page like Gina’s circles.  I added some of the Crate Paper chipboard pieces and added some stitching too.

THIRD GRADE ADVENTURE - Scrapbook Circle Sketch September

Hi there!  This is the page I did using the Scrapbook Circle September Sketch and the 'Hello, Hello' Main kit and Embellishment Add-on.

 

 

This is the sketch below and you can find the original post on the Scrapbook Circle Blog HERE, which has a couple other DT members takes on the sketch.  It was a perfect sketch for several of the photos I took on the first day of school!

 

I pretty much stuck to the sketch using patterned papers and embellishments in the top left corner, including some of the Freckled Fawn glitter stars and Scrapbook Circle acrylic stars.

 

I used these Crate Paper cork stickers from a previous Scrapbook Circle kit for my title.

This sketch is part of the September Sketch Challenge and the prize is SO awesome!

DUBLIN in a day - Scrapbook Circle DT Choice

This is a LO I made using the September Scrapbook Circle kit, "Here + There" and both Add-ons,

"This Place" & "Time Flies."  Time certainly does fly!  I tried to finish this post up last week

and have been crazy busy...It seems with little kids, the busiest time is the beginning of school,

the Holidays and at the end of the school year!  Whew!

Anyway, I have so many photos, from our summer trip abroad, but I have been slowly putting a

large dent into documenting!  We had about 22 hours in Dublin, the day before my husband flew

home...without us :( and we crammed a pile into that one day!

Likewise, I crammed a piece of almost every product from the September kits into one layout!

It is a bit chaotic, but I love the way it turned out...

I used 3 different types of patterned paper layered to make the main background.  I used another

piece of 6x6 paper from the new Shimelle collection, with map print on it, as a base for my cluster

of stickers, paper, stamps, rub-ons, printables, my somewhat hidden journaling tag & baggie...

oh, and the photos!  I printed my pictures out in a photo booth strip style.

I scrapped, or plan to, some larger photos from that crazy day, but wanted to include some others,

to give the over all theme and a place to include some straight documentation of all the places we went.

I used the hexagon wood veneer Thickers for my title and Shimelle alphas for the subtitle under it.

I stamped lots of arrows, a Scrapbook Circle exclusive stamp, in cocoa chalk ink to help move

your eye around the page without standing out too much against the woodgrain.

There are some fantastically appropriate travel stickers and embellishments included in the September kit.

I joked that, when in doubt, over-embellish!!  I used lots of stitching in random places around the page,

connecting all the pieces together.
