Hello!  Playing catch up now that school is out...I wanted to share a scrapbook layout I created using one of The Crafter's Workshop's12×12 stencils, perfect for the photos and theme of my page!
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I recently hosted a Bachelorette party for my best friend at the Lake and we have a lovely couple days with just the girls!  I printed out several small pictures from the weekend and chose this large scene stencil called ‘Mountain View.’I have tried this technique before where I used Modeling Paste over a stencil and then after it is dry, I watercolor the paste.  It don’t blend the way it would on paper, but created an interesting effect and adds that dimension, perfect for this particular stencil! For this layout I decided to use the Clear Modeling Paste, instead of the White to see if it made any difference.  I taped the stencil down to a non-stick mat over my paper to kit it in place. It took a while for the paste to dry since I applied it rather thick.  I did use my heat tool to finish up at the end, just to make sure it wasn’t tacky before applying paint.
I grabbed my watercolors and started painting over the stenciled areas, alternating various color greens.
After all the stenciled areas were painted, I added paint in between to make it look like there was water in those areas.  By the time I got to painting the paper with the water areas, the rest of the watercolor was dry. I used a low tact tape to mask over the top of the stenciled areas that is uneven.  I used a pair of decorative scissors to create a random border to somewhat match up the top of the stenciled areas.  I also masked the edges to continue the natural border the stencil created at the bottom of the page.I grabbed several colors of Distress Inks and blended a sunset background at the top of the layout.
After the ink set, I added my photos with a dimensional adhesive, helping them stick to the textured surfaces of the modeling paste.  I also added a title using Thickers and wrote the location and date. Finally, I wrote some journaling on the back with more details memories of the trip, not wanting to cover any more of the scene than necessary!
I hope this inspires you to use one of the large Scene stencils to really help tell your story!  Thanks so much for stopping by the Blog today!
