Scrapbook Circle Anniversary BLOG HOP!!

Monday, May 18, 2015

Hi there everyone!!
This month we are celebrating Scrapbook Circle's 9th Anniversary!

To celebrate, this week we are doing a blog hop around to the design team members' blogs to showcase all the fun things we have created with the May Hello Sunshine Kit.

The hop starts at the Scrapbook Circle blog.
Comment along your way while visiting the other team members' blogs. Each comment will be one entry in a
random drawing where we will be giving away FIVE May Hello Sunshine Kits...five kits!  Hello...?!!

This is the LO I created layering several of the Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss Insta embellishments.

I used one of the frames layered with a transparency for my journaling.  Another one was for the title (there were three even though the photos only show 2) and then as mats for my photos.  I used lots of the Scrapbook Circle exclusives from the kit, including the foil cards and the glittered phrase sticker.

I added lots of other embellishments...the more the better on this page!  Finally, I stitched
thru all the frames adding texture and an interactive element for the journaling.

That's it for my page!  We hope you feel inspired today!
Comments close at midnight PST on May 21.
We will post the winners on the Scrapbook Circle blog on May 22.

Next up is the awesome Gina Lideros!!

As a reminder, here is the order for the blog hop:

National Scrapbook Day - Scrapbook Circle Instagram Round Robin!

Saturday, May 2, 2015

Hi there!  Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!  I haven't had a chance to be crafty today,
but I am still counting tomorrow!  This is the fun round robin we are having at Scrapbook Circle!
Start at the Scrapbook Circle Instagram page and go from there!!

I made a collage of all the instagrams we have taken in our garden so fare this Spring.
I loved all the hot pink, it went perfectly with our lilies!

I only had 7 photos so I used the blank spots for the tag and journaling.

I used an old Scrapbook Circle stencil to add some pattern to the background cardstock.
I masked out the shape of a large heart and painted a light wash of watercolor on first,
then used lots of Distress Ink in greens...

Thank for stopping by!  Have an awesome creative Saturday!

Surrounding Spring - Scrapbook Circle Designer's Choice

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

On the Scrapbook Circle Blog today sharing one of my pages using the February ‘Today Is Beautiful‘ kit and the ‘Dream Big’ add-on.   The photo I am scrapping inspired every decision about this layout, from the color palette, to the repeating, to the embellishments pointing to the center.

SURROUNDING SPRING_SBC_Feb border

I do have to give credit to my husband for this Instagram photo he took! My daughter had a friend over and they spent hours playing in the backyard.  Later we found the project they had been working on,  carefully placing white gravel and red berries in a heart share around these new daffodils!  It was such an unexpected surprise to come across that it had to be documented.

SURROUNDING SPRING_SBC_Feb. 2015 (9)

I really wanted the photo to stand out and tried to keep it as simple as possible, using just a few embellishments all directing your eye to the center, quite literally, with arrows.  I thought this red polka dot paper from Authentique was perfect, but toned it down with a piece of vellum on top of it.  I also wanted to soften it a bit more by tearing the corners.  The vellum curled around the torn edges and gave me the inspiration for the title.

One of the best exclusives in the kit this month are the gorgeous colored vellum die cuts.  Obviously, the red one was perfect for this.   I chose a few other vellum die cut pieces from the Maggie Holmes ephemera pack.  Over embellishment is easy for me to do, so I had to show some restraint to keep my page simple.  I am a huge fan of pretty papers and products, but the photo was the most important part of this creation.

I hope this finds you all surrounded by a little love too, in whatever form it may be!  Have an amazing day!

Pinkfresh Studio is joining with Pretty Little Studio again today to share some inspiration
with you! Pretty Little Studio has such lovely papers, vintage die cuts and other
colorful products.   Throw in some Pinkfresh Studio embellishments and stamps that
are unique and well, fresh ;) and we have some fun projects!  At the end of this post is
the list of DT members from both companies, alternating, for you to follow along today.

Make sure to visit each blog and comment on each one in order to be entered for the giveaway
including the Pinkfresh Studio blog. One winner will be chosen and will receive $30 worth of
stuff from Pinkfresh Studio and a $30 gift certificate from Pretty Little Studio!!  So get to hopping!

{  Winners will be announced on 9/15/14  }

*****************************************************************

Now on to the projects!  I created two 12x12 scrapbook layouts.

I LOVE this ombre vellum from Pretty Little Studio, part of the 'Marigold' collection.  Inspired by the colors,
I used a mask with modeling paste and then painted over it with the same colors as the paper.
I also used the matching script word stickers and tags, lining them all up with their adjacent colors.

I watercolored several tags I cut using my Silhouette to match as well, stamping one Pinkfresh stamp
in black and embossing another with gold!  I dipped another tag in gold embossing
powder too, to tie in the gorgeous gold butterfly stickers from Pretty Little Studio.
I used a woodgrain script die cut for my title, layered over the photo.
The ombre/gold striped washi & gold puffy borders both from Pinkfresh was meant to be!

My second layout features papers & one vellum from the Pretty Little Studio 'Marigold' & 'Silly Monkey' collections.  I love this bold woodgrain alpha paper, perfect for a back to school page!

I made a little stack of embellishments with a colored wood veneer on top of a die cut star,
an enamel label sticker, a puffy border and a scribble circle die cut, all from Pinkfresh!

I stamped my title using the Pinkfresh Studio Anya Alpha stamp set....so versatile and the font is very unique.
I layered some more enamel stickers over the stamped banners.  I cut and pieced two different colors
together making a longer label, mixing up the colors than serendipitously matched my son's shirt!
I love it when that happens! :)

Thanks for checking out my projects, leave a comment for the chance to win and hop on
over to Tessa's Blog next!

As part of the Blog Hop, I participated in the PageMaps e-blast/website update and used this sketch for my LO.
I think it is such a cute sketch and love the patterns and all the ways it could be interpreted!
You can find the link to the PageMaps post HERE!

After looking a the sketch and choosing these photos, I knew I wanted lots of color and flowers!
The diamond pane windows in the first photo looks almost navy in color,
so I used that paper from Basic Grey with the repeating diamond patterns.

I used a couple of the chipboard frames from Crate Paper, as well as the other chipboard pieces from Basic Grey, all part of the Tiki Torch Add-on.  I stitched some of the chipboard letters from Basic Grey for part of my title.

My journaling is written on one of the Scrapbook Circle exclusive Tags.
I finished by embellishing with other pieces from the Add-ons, including flair from
American Crafts, Heidi Swapp stickers and the heart die cut from Elle's Studio.

** Make sure you leave a comment to be eligible to win a kit! **
It is gorgeous, as you see below!!  Hop ends Monday, August 4th at 9:00 p.m. Pacific.

Monday, April 7, 2014

And the winner is.........................

Your layout is stunning!!! Thanks for the inspiration!
For me it is so hard to find balance these days...there is a lot on my plate!!! I try to take things one at a time and prioritize. Family always comes first but I try to find some time, at least once a month, to meet with my scrappy friends and enjoy some scrapbooking time with them (and a few glasses of wine!). That renergizes me! :)
Thanks for the chance!

Congratulations Anelsie!

Bucket List is an awesome kit!  You'll love it!
Send me an email (thru the Contact Me Banner on my blog) and give me your address and info!

Thanks so much to all of you for commenting and sharing your key to balance!
I appreciate all the support, happy Monday and have a great week!

**GIVEAWAY** - balance & Believe...Scrapbook Circle April Kit!

Thursday, April 3, 2014

This is such an exciting post!  I get to give away one of the new April kits from Scrapbook Circle!
It is called Bucket List and is FULL of so many gorgeous, richly colored papers that are bound to inspire.

I thought as my Giveaway I would make you work for it a little! :)  For my layout I wanted
to highlight some things in my personal "bucket list."  A combination Bucket List / New Year's
Resolution / Lentil sacrifice page to remind me of my hopes and goals for myself.

Soooooo...for the giveaway, you need to be a Follower!  If you aren't already, go the right
side bar and "Join Me," so you can get future posts and I can return the favor and give you love!

Next, comment on this post by giving an example of how you help bring balance to your
own life!  If you are a new follower, list that too, but I will select a winner from the comments
submitted and lucky person will get the fabulous April kit from Scrapbook Circle!

I did use the "Places To Go" Add-On for April which has these awesome gold arrows from Freckle Fawn!
I loved all the inspirational quotes and phrases in this Fancy Pants collection.  Not to get too symbolic,
but so many of these phrases were appropriate to inspire me to make this page about myself...

I also used the Scrapbook Circle stencil from the October kit to highlight a few clusters of die-cuts.
I tried to keep with that shape of divided circles...that led me to the pie chart.  I starting thinking
that maybe our lives are one big pie chart, and knowingly or not, we compartmentalize and
allocate pieces of our life into sections...I know I do!

So, again, my challenge to you...write a quick comment about how you help yourself  balance
your  life.  Scrapbooking, art, yoga, ice cream, silly movies, I want to know!  Comment
back here before April 6th 11:59pm!  I will announce the winner here a few days after that!

If you don't win the random drawing, never fear...you can get your own free stuff!  If you are
not a current subscriber, this is the prefect time...become a new sub now and you can choose a
previous kit to be sent along with the April kit for free!  The details are in the SBC Newsletter HERE!

Thanks for stopping by and DON'T FORGET to comment for your chance to win!!

I chose a 6x6 stencil from Heidi Swapp and her Color Shine mist in Peach to add another pattern to my background paper from Glitz's new Finnley collection.  I didn't want to have too much pattern going on so I used a couple different vellums for the triangles in the sketch.  I used one pocket tag, one canvas tag and a journaling tag from Elle's Studio all layered together.  I used another stencil from Studio Calico and stamp ink to add a little more color onto the canvas tag.

This is an Instagram photo of my son's Radio Flyer tricycle, obviously,
and so my title is a little play on that and how fast time seems to be flying by.

Thanks so much for hopping and stopping by today!
Next on to Manda...

Be sure to go back to the Scrap Our Stash Blog so you can participate in the Challenge & prizes!
Have a great day!
