For the last of my Scrapbook Circle November projects using the
'Little Moments' main kit and the 'Sweetness' Add-on.
  

I was looking through boxes of old photographs my Dad had taken, developed and printed himself.

This is the beach in Northern Ireland where we spent a month this past summer.  I have several photos

that look similar to this, but finding this one printed at 8x10 was like finding a little treasure.

I have no idea when it was printed or if I was even on this trip as a child, but I love it!

A lot of the vellum die cuts from Kelly Purkey are travel themed and so they were perfect for layering along with

a few of the Heidi Swapp color magic words and die cuts.  I tore the edge of this map paper to mimic the rough

edges of the cliff in the photo.  I also wanted to use lots of vivid colors since the photo was in black & white.

The new December kit 'Made of Stories' has already been revealed,

but the November kit is still available and really versatile!

Come On Get Crafty - natural beauty & A Few Favs

This is one of those projects that working from the same collection makes the creative juices flow so easy!  I love digging through my stash and finding products to go with things I wouldn't normally think of...as well as working with an entire collection that was designed to work together.  This is one of those occasions that working with a collection, or to be more specific, with Crate Paper collections by Maggie Holmes, made everything come together super fast!

I did use some gold modeling paste and a random polka dot mask on the background patterned paper and the rest of it is almost all Maggie Holmes.  The letter stickers are from the Webster's Pages collection from Allison Kreft and I think the subtle grey works well with the black and white photos. 

Working with a collection that is made to work together, it makes layering and clustering so much easier for me.  And I love to stack up lots of layers!  I used one of the stacked paper flowers to tie in the gold and turquoise and layered it onto some vellum under the chipboard frame.  I thought it helped weight the bottom corner to balance out the title in the left corner.

One of the things I decided to do was to use the fabric frame on top of the close up photo.  Since the frame was larger than the photo and I needed to add a piece of patterned paper as a photo mat, I decided that was the perfect chance to add some hidden journaling.  I added patterned paper on the back of the fabric frame and onto the under side of the frame.  I added washi tape to be decorative and also to hold it in place, as I stitched it down with my sewing machine.  Then I wrote my journaling not to my daughter under that flap.  I love that it is interactive and a little surprise for her in the future, and it makes it a little more private.

The pieces of this collection are some of those colors and products that I will always reach for,

and will never get tired of using.  Despite trending styles, the versatility of these products makes

them valuable and easy to use.

Gratitude and Goodbyes - Last Pinfresh Studio Post!

Hi everyone!  Today is the day after our Thanksgiving holiday, here in the U.S.

 

Just about every scrapbook layout or mini album I create, becomes an exercise in recollection and most of the time, gratitude.  I am especially grateful today, and a little sad, writing my final Pinkfresh Studio blog post, as a DT member.

 

My son's favorite color is orange, so I had to use these enamel frames as the base idea for my page.

After picking this patterned paper as the background piece, I decided to use a mask and modeling paste on cardstock.

I thought that would be great place to embellish with wood veneers and enamel wood drop stickers.

 

I used the scribble circle die to cut out a place for my title and the transparent alphas.

I also used the clear banner stamp included in the Limited Edition Kit under the larger photo.

 

My second project is a holiday card I used the Anya Alpha stamp to stamp a sentiment.

I used silver stamp ink and a shadow ink from Hero Arts on a white banner die cut.

 

I also used the gold scallop puffy borders at the top of the card and some vellum snowflakes I die cut.

The Anya Alphas are so fun to play with and unlike anything else!

 

From the moment I first saw the Pinkfresh Studio color block wood veneers, I knew that it was going to be an exciting business to watch grow...much less be a part of!  I have had the most wonderful experience being part of such a fresh original company...

Come On Get Crafty - Product Showcase Lawn Fawn Stamps, Dies & Paper

 This is a card I made using several of the new supplies in the Come On Get Crafty

shop, as well as a few of last year's, all from Lawn Fawn.

 

 

I wanted to use the 'joy' script die with the Gold Foil paper from Pebbles, that cuts like butter!

It is beautiful.  I also had a couple pieces of the Lawn Fawn 'Peace Joy Love' patterned papers.

I cut one as the base and one out with the stitched rectangle die.  

  I thought it would be great to use the 'Happy Trails' stamps and matching dies to create a Christmas card.

I stamped out the car, a few hearts and trees.  I used Copic markers to color them and then glued the

smaller tree to the top of the car, like we will be doing in a couple weeks!! 

  

I glued the little car to another stitched circle die cut and then added the joy to the top.

Earlier in the summer, I used these same Lawn Fawn papers for a summer themed layout

along with other primary colors.  I love to find ways to use seasonal products all year long!

Scrapbook Circle November Sketch Challenge - Sam i AM

Hi there!  I wanted to share the layout I did for the November Scrapbook Circle Sketch

using the 'Little Moments' main kit and 'Sweetness' Add-on.

 

One of the first pages I do to after receiving my kit is to flex my design skills with the sketch!

It is always a great inspiration and place to start getting the creative juices flowing.

I used one of the exclusive Scrapbook Circle stamps as a way to add texture to the background,

similar to the sketch.

 

 

I used a photo of my son's self-portrait from the beginning of this school year as the main photo.

I used another of his drawings with his name as a the photo mat instead of a piece of patterned paper.

 

I thought using these Heidi Swapp letters as a pattern would be a fun way to tie in my son's art work

and all the colors.  I pretty much stuck to the sketch and it was a fun, silly way to use lots of the kit.

Scrapbook Circle November Kit Inspired Challenge - Polka Dots!

Happy Monday everyone!

I wanted to share my layout for the November Kit Inspired Challenge at Scrapbook Circle, which is to

use polka dots.  As you can see below, the November kit, 'Little Moments,' is full of patterned

paper with polka dots in all shapes and colors.  More than that, my photo was the main inspiration!

My mother is an avid golfer and although i only play a handful of times a year, the Fall always marks a time that we play together, the weather being perfect for several hours outside.  I took this Instagram photo on the driving range one day and loved the contrast and composition!  Perfect for polka dots and lots of textured layers...

I started with a piece of kraft cardstock that I painted a thin layer of gesso onto using a brayer.

Then, I ran a large polka dot roller stamp over the white paint.  I wanted it to look a little messy

and unplanned contrasting the perfect patterned in the paper.

I used two different sized punches on several of the papers included in both the November Main kit

and the 'Sweetness' Add-on which had the 6x6 pad from Heidi Swapp's September Skies collection.

After layered the circles on top of each other, I added several stickers or acetate pieces.

I stitched an uneven border around the outside and through several circle clusters.

The prize for this Challenge is a $25.00 gift certificate to The Cut Shoppe, just for playing along.

Scrapbook Circle - November Mood Board

It isn’t often that I stray from a traditional 12×12 layout, unless it is a project for a party.  After sifting through the “Little Moments” November kit, the“Sweetness” Add-on and amazing Mood Board, I decided to do something a little different.

Diana does such a great job putting together our mood boards, a unique variety of textures, objects and inspiration!

I knew I wanted to use the feathers and gold, especially with the Kelly Purkey die cuts. I set up a page on my Silhouette to cut this large feather and the text.  I used the giant feather as a template for adding a mix of vellum and patterned die cuts.  I cut several of my own feathers from patterned paper and fringed the edges to match the die cuts.  I also used the vintage journaling page and cut the gold sticker sheet without removing any of the individual stickers.  After layering all the different pieces down, I stamped the exclusive Scrapbook Circle stamp onto several feathers.

The stamp actually says ‘thankful for,’ I just put a piece of washi tape over the ‘for.’  I then backed the words with various patterned papers, alternating in colors that contrasted each other.

This page is propped on an easel on our mantel and I just love all the color it adds.
